We recently visited with Hopewell MBC in Texas City where Bro.
Joel Clay is the Pastor.
This church was organized in November 2007 and is now having an
attendance over 200 each Sunday. The church began meeting in October
of 2004 and Bro. Clay was a Texas State Missionary for three years.
It is a real blessing to see the progress they have made in a
short time. They see souls saved every month and use the baptistry
frequently. They have bought a very nice building but now are
making plans for a multi-use building for fellowship, classrooms,
etc. This is a church that the MBA of Texas can be very pleased
with.
The Texas State Missions Conference was held on April 22nd. The program was very good. The emphasis was on youth, but it included things that every church could use in planning to have a growing church. Bro. Robert Wallace coordinated the program. The other speakers were Bro. Matt Gholson, Randall Reeves, Alvin Dickerson and Ben Pomales. It was a very good day.
The pre-associational meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 7th in Hillsboro at Walnut Street MBC. Every church in Texas is invited to be represented in this meeting. No business will be conducted. It will be simply for information exchange concerning those asking for salary from the MBA in 2009.

Two of our newest members were married at Northgate MBC this month. What a blessing to see dedicated children of God commit to each other. God is also sending more new faces our way.
Satan always sticks his nose in when things are happening. This month we’ve replaced shingles, repaired both air conditioners in the sanctuary, repaired a leak through the bathroom floor and now the water heater. But, all in all, we had a wonderful month in the Lord.
We are continuing our Monday evening Life Group. This is a special Bible study time that is bringing us closer to each other. Please keep praying for Northgate.

April was an exciting month for Vanderbilt. We observed our 9th
anniversary. Bro. Sammy Eldredge preached our anniversary message
and he did an excellent job preaching the Word of God. We enjoyed
having Bro. and Mrs. Eldredge in our church service. Timpson MBC
has faithfully supported this work since it began. The Lord blessed
with 81 for the worship service.
The ladies served a delicious meal at noon and other people came
in to enjoy lunch with us. The services concluded in the afternoon
with singing.
We continue to have prospective visitors in our morning services. Please pray that God will lead some of these people to join our church. Please continue to pray for our work and come visit with us any time.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters! It is the end of April and once again I write to tell you of our progress here at Meadowbrook. It has been a busy, but blessed month. We are still seeing new faces in our services. We now have two ladies’ Bible studies and a men’s Bible study. We are offering more opportunities to come and see what we are all about. Please continue to pray for this work.
Your prayers are so important to us and I know that God honors
them. We have so much to do here at Meadowbrook and with the support
and prayers from our brethren we will make a difference in this
Community.

The month of April has been a tremendous blessing. God is continuing to bless the efforts to plant a church in Grapevine. I would like to thank you for your continued support of the work. Your prayers are valued the most and the support funds are greatly appreciated.
We are currently well underway with our plans for this year. The plan includes three mission trips, VBS and many detailed Bible study opportunities.
We are continuing to search for property. We are in prayer about it but not discouraged. We are really in desperate need of more space. We have many new visitors. Attendance is down a little due to multiple Boy Scout trips. Many of our children are in the Scouts.
I accepted a new position at work about six months ago. The travel
was getting tough in the last role. This new position is much
more demanding on my time – the reward is less travel. Please
keep me in your prayers. If you have any questions please call
me at 817-430-8606.

This month my wife and I knocked on doors every week in Alto and in Price, sharing the gospel of Jesus. Pray for the seed that has been planted in the hearts of the people. I am preparing three new believers for baptism.
My wife and I are attending English classes at Landmark MBC in Mt. Enterprise. When the classes finish, we share God’s Word with the students. The group has about ten students.
Also, we are making preparations for a Vacation Bible School
in June. Keep praying for us.

April was a great month for Iglesia Bautista Emanuel of Center. We started with two visiting with us. One of the visitors is a teenage boy whose name is Luis. The first day he visited he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior.
We are making plans to go to the ABA Hispanic Church Camp near San Antonio. Bro. Abel Oviedo, a missionary in McAllen, invited our church to attend this activity and everyone is excited about the camp. We continue to knock on doors in the Tatum area.
We had five members of Martha’s family (my wife) visiting from Houston. One Sunday morning four of those accepted the Lord as personal Savior.
We met a large family in Tatum. Pray for them. Also, pray for
Sister Maria Gomez as she has some health problems. She was in
the hospital twice last week. Thank you for your support and your
special prayers in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
