A very special thank you goes to those who attended the Leadership and Church Growth Conference. I thought it was very good and many of those who attended commented that it was the best one yet. Bro. David Proctor, Bro. Brad Rountree, Bro. Frank Lane and Bro. Mike Rice each had a great presentation on their assigned subject. If you missed it, you surely missed a blessing.
I want to express my appreciation to the churches that sponsor the Conference. They were Eastfield MBC in Mesquite where Bro. Marc Shultz is the Pastor; South Union MBC in Daingerfield where Bro. Chad Thompson is the Pastor; Emmanuel MBC in Greenville where Bro. Bobby Sparks is the Pastor; Nevill’s Chapel MBC in Mt Pleasant where Bro. Glenn Griffith is the Pastor; Unity MBC in Texarkana where Bro. John Bryant is the Pastor and New Liberty Baptist Church in Garland where Bro. Ken Ashlock is the Pastor. These churches have been sponsors most every year we have had the Conference. These churches and pastors are to be commended for their interest in Missions.

We have begun our Beth Moore Bible study on Esther. There are 13 ladies who are very faithful every Sunday morning. “It’s Tough Being A Woman” is the theme. Continuing with our GROW outreach has proven a good time of bonding, as well as working together reaching the lost and unchurched. Some of the people who have received personal letters from our people have come back and looked the person up.
Two of our young people announced their engagement to be married next summer. We are praying and seeking what God wants us to have for this age. Mike and Angie Korenzewski are still helping with our worship. They spent countless hours with our small choir preparing for Easter. On Easter morning the choir presented a mini cantata entitled, “Love Grew Where The Blood Fell.” Come visit with us anytime. We would love to have you.

April was another interesting month for us at Vanderbilt MBC. People are coming and enjoying our services. Some are returning and we are praying that the will of the Lord will be to lead them our way.
We celebrated our tenth anniversary on April 26th. Bro. Adrian Neal preached for us and we had an excellent service. You could feel the power of God in our services.
My health is doing much better and I am enjoying preaching again. I have qualified people in our church who can help me with the other services. This is a real blessing. Thank you for your prayers. You are welcome to come and worship with us any time.

April is almost gone but we were blessed by two souls being saved and baptized. We are busy reaching out into the surrounding community. The evidence of the recession is very clear. People call me and come to the church seeking help with food. Please pray for us and pray that we will be able to keep up an active role, not only feeding the people, but also serving as a place in our community where the people can be fed by the truth of God’s Holy Word.
We at Meadowbrook love and appreciate all that our brothers and sisters in Christ have done for this wonderful work. May God bless and keep you all.

It is a pleasure to report to you what has been going on in April. The Lord has given us the strength to finish the repair work in Tatum. We have started having services on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. In the first service there were two visitors, the second service we had three and the third service we had five visitors. One of the visitors in really good with music and he is willing to help us with the worship service. We still need a few things. One thing we need is an air conditioning unit. Also, we could use a sound system. Please help us with your prayers so the Lord can provide the needs. The AC unit will cost about $1,500.00. If you want to help us with this need for the Lords work at Tatum, send it to Bethel MBC in Tatum.
Pedro and I are taking a breath to continue working hard this next month, evangelizing in Tatum and Longview, door to door. The last three months we have knocked on many doors. We are not sure how many but six of them have opened their doors to have Bible studies and after this three months we have two faithful families that come every service in the Longview area. This month we are going to continue with the same method, teaching the Word of God.
Please pray for me and my family because we are working hard. On Sundays the Lord gives me the opportunity to preach in Longview at 11:00 a.m. and in Tatum at 2:00 p.m. and in Center at 7:00 p.m. I live in Henderson so I stay out with my wife and three Kids the whole day. Please pray for us so the Lord will give us strength and to keep us safe on the roads.Souls Saved 0 Baptisms 0 Letter 0 Statement 0

The big news for the month of April is that the mission voted to lease a vacant church building which is located on U.S. Hwy. 84, just blocks away from our current location. Rent will only be $600.00 per month. I am anticipating that the increased visibility will help us bring in more people. We’ll also have room for them. We are currently pushing the community room’s capacity to the max.
We’ve had some first time visitors this month. A family of five visited our youth programs on Tuesday night and a 6-year old girl visited our morning worship on April 26th. My daughter, Rachel, immediately began telling her about Jesus.
In April, Grace Pointe MBM had her first true business meeting, voting to rent the church building, to give 10% to missions and to contribute $100.00 each month to my salary. My wife began working with the ladies to organize a ladies auxiliary.
Grace Pointe MBM will host the July Mission Rally of the Southwest Association of Missionary Baptist Churches. The mission rally will be on Saturday, July 25th at our facility on Hwy. 84. It will begin with the Ladies Auxiliary and Men’s Meetings at 10:00 a.m. , followed by lunch , followed by the afternoon session. At 1:00 p.m. Bro. Jim Slocumb, director of Texas Mission Development, will be our keynote speaker.

April was not an easy month for this Pastor. I lost my brother, Dan Boone, from a lung disease. He had been sick for a long while. Our church has much sickness. Some of them are recovering and some are facing life threatening sickness.
We had our homecoming this month. Bro. C. E. Patton brought the message. He was the first Pastor of this church. Everyone was glad to see him and hear him preach. We also had our quarterly singing. We had a wonderful time singing and worshiping the Lord.
We had six visitors in April. We are still visiting in the community and our members who are not coming regularly. We have a core group in our church who are very faithful and we give thanks to God for these good and faithful Christians. May God bless them.
Please keep us in your prayers as we carry the Word to the community and our members.

The month of April has been another up and down month. Some of the children we were picking up and taking to church have quit. They have done this before so it is nothing new. However, some young people in their early teens have started coming. Their parents drop them off and that way we get an opportunity to visit with them a while on the church grounds. We are working hard to reach prospects who are not saved and will be still long enough to talk about the Lord a little while.
We will be receiving the TMD funds on May 17th. Then we will be able to make more progress on our building. I would like to take this opportunity to ask that you put us on your regular support list, for any amount. I would be happy to come to your church to tell of our work. If you would like such a visit, just call me. My daytime phone number is 936-598-3914 and the evening number is 936-598-8098. You may also visit me by email at marlinfreeman@yahoo.com.

TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT
In Matthew 5:42, Jesus said, “Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.” In I Corinthians 16:1-3, Paul said, “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.” In II Corinthians 8:4, he also said, “Praying us with much entreaty that we would receive the gift and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.”
Again, in II Corinthians 9:12-15, he said, “For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men: And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”
And the writer of Hebrews said in Hebrews 6:10, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
THIS IS WHAT TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT IS ALL ABOUT!
I enjoyed, very much, representing this program during the month of April. Besides phone calls of inquiry, my travels included four services at Rocky Springs MBC during Pastor Charles Swilling’s illness. I attended a Pine Springs Camp fund raiser, a very enjoyable Mission Rally and a great, very informative, Church Growth and Leadership Conference.
I will mail out the ballots to supporting members on May 1st for the purpose of choosing a project for our Third Quarter 2009 funds.
