As I prepare this report, it is August 31st, the end of the MBA fiscal year. It has been a good year overall. A full report will be available at a later time. We are in the process of receiving requests from churches for support during the coming year. It now appears that we will have a larger number to consider this year. A complete list will be sent out after the September 15th deadline. Please pray that God will guide in the decisions to be made.
Please remember the pre-associational meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 6th. The meeting will be hosted by Pastor Charles Swilling and Rocky Springs MBC in Dialville.
The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. If you need directions to the location you can call Pastor Swilling at 903/586-2859. All sponsoring churches and the missionary they plan to sponsor have been asked to be present for this meeting. This will give everyone interested an opportunity to present your questions and concerns to the sponsoring churches that are asking for support in 2010. If I can answer any question for you, please feel free to call me at 972/272-7727 or email at cbmin1@verizon.net. Whatever you do, please be present for this meeting.
At the pre-associational meeting, we will also discuss the proposed Mission Policy that was referred to the churches at the messenger meeting last November. We will not do any business but perhaps there are questions or things that can be clarified to help your church make a decision.

It really rained hard the day Life Touch hosted the Central Texas Mission Council, but the mission reports and fellowship were enjoyed by all.
We are still busy handing out the new door hangers, along with tracts. Pray with us that we will reach many souls through this effort. We are trying to be patient as we wait for the Lord to build His church. Our ladies seem to have more of a zeal than ever. They are about to begin another Beth Moore Bible Study in the Psalms.
We are looking for new ways to get the Gospel out. Our GROW program is good but there are so many souls in Irving and we want to reach them before it is too late. Pray for us and visit when you can.

I am happy to see that vacations seem to be over and school is starting again. Even though the summer averages have been down, the Lord blessed us with some saved and additions by letter. Our offerings have been good considering the summer slump. We are having visitors and good spiritual services. Please pray for God to bless us with good additions.
Come see us when you can. You are always welcome at Vanderbilt.

Here at Meadowbrook we are ready for some cooler weather. Knocking on doors when it is 100 degrees is almost over for the year. We are working hard and our outreach is enabling us to reach people who are not going to church anywhere. Please pray for us as we work for the Lord.

I just returned from Peru and I had a very successful trip. I had a chance to preach at four different churches that Bro. Jeremiah Carson organized during the last two years. The new preachers are looking forward to having the opportunity to further their education..
I returned on August 22nd and the next day the Lord gave me the opportunity to baptize two new believers at Unity MBC in Longview. We are continuing to preach in Longview, Tatum and Pasadena. I know it sounds strange that I am preaching at different locations on Sundays but this is what the Lord has put in my heart. I drive 500 miles on Sunday and it may seem a lot to you but I used to drive 800-1000 miles a day when I was a truck driver. I remember that my boss told me when I was driving from Texas to New York that I needed to go and now I hear a different voice in my head telling me in my heart to go. Please pray for me and my ministry, along with all the lost people I witness to. God bless you.

August marked Grace Pointe’s first full-week Vacation Bible School. We had 22 kids attend and made new contacts in the Brownwood Housing Authority. We are currently studying prospective by-laws and constitutional documents, as well as the ABA doctrinal statement and church covenant. This is being done on Wednesday nights to teach the Mission about what a church is and what a church does.
We are also preparing the Mission for a series of outreach events in September. We will canvas the city of Brownwood September 6th-12th in preparation for National Back to Church Sunday on September 13th. We will also do massive outreach and evangelism during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration September 18th-20th. A fall festival has been slated for September 30th. Come on out to any of these events. You are more than welcome. We’d like to see you. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Praise the Lord! We had another good month. We had two to join. C.J. and Angie Clarke came on promise of a letter. We also had 16 visitors and five of these were first time visitors. We still have a lot of illness but some are improving. One member was just diagnosed with cancer. Please keep these in your prayers.
We are taking bids for a parking lot in the front of our building. We have made a number of improvements on the building. Remember us in your prayers.

August was a good month but it was very eventful for us. We had 8 first time visitors and all are prospects. We enjoyed a visit from Bro. and Mrs. Marion Reed. My health is improving but I still have two months before I can drive. I ask your prayers for us here at Heritage MBC. We will be asking for State support equal to half salary for the project when we meet in Denison.
We had a storm come through Saturday, August 29th, that destroyed my office that is about a quarter of a mile from the church building. It did a small amount of damage to the church building but no one was hurt. We thank the Lord for that. Please pray for us.

TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT
I had another busy month but it was very enjoyable. I had seven appointments and traveled more than 1,200 miles representing the TMD program. I attended the Central Texas Mission Council Meeting in Irving and attended Liberty MBC in McKinney . Pastor Kevin Clinton asked me to bring the morning message and I was blessed to witness the baptism of my granddaughter.
I attended the Old Cherokee Association Mission Rally at Heritage MBC in Tyler. During that meeting I presented the second quarter TMD funds to Pastor Ron Witcher and Heartland MBM of Longview. Other events during August were the school opening for Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in Henderson, attended Missionary Baptist Church in Corsicana, Memorial MBC of Rusk, and Liberty MBC of Elkhart.
Pray for TMD and for me as I travel.
