As we begin a new year, I would like to encourage the churches
of our State Association to pray for our state mission work. God
has truly been good to us in years past to provide us with over
300 churches to work together in spreading the Gospel to the lost
in our state. Men have committed to God to go as Missionaries,
sent by churches with a vision for seeing more churches.
In recent years it seems that the vision and commitment have given way to contentment. There are far more people in Texas now than ever before and the Gospel is still God’s method for the salvation of the lost and the means of establishing new churches. Every church, regardless of size, is responsible to God for the Great Commission work. As we support the missionaries we now have please pray that God might use your church to send a man to establish a church in one of the many cities of our state where we have no church of our Association. If God leads, there will be
a way! Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory
by Christ Jesus.”

Winter finally arrived in the Southeast Texas area which forced
us to move our visitation efforts into the malls and supermarkets
instead of door to door. This was just in time for the holiday
rush of shoppers so we had plenty of opportunities to share the
Gospel. On one day at the Katy Mills Mall, I distributed over
250 salvation tracts and was able to lead two people to Christ.
This has been a great encouragement to me as we go toward this
new year of 2008.
I would like for you to pray for my sponsoring church as they begin to search for a pastor. They have just begun this search and are much in need of our prayers. Please continue to pray for us here in Sugar Land as we are continuing to see souls saved but we do not see them follow in baptism and church membership. This is a great concern to me and I am praying that the Lord will intervene in this area. We also have a new management company handling the store front that we are meeting in. The last one was great; please pray that the present one will be just as good.
We still have need of about $1,200.00 more per month to come in to meet our bills. We have depleted all of the reserves that we had. Please send offerings to Twinland Baptist Church, 16300 Wallisville Road, Houston, TX 77049. Thanks to all who are presently supporting this work.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas season. We, at Northgate, chose to honor our Savior’s birth by ministering at a local nursing home. We were blessed to have the opportunity to interact with some of the residents and also to present a Christmas concert. Earlier in December we had our third men’s prayer breakfast of the year. With eight in attendance we counted it a good success. It is a joy to see men coming out early to pray together.
We now have a projector we are learning to use. The Romanians have been gracious in allowing us to use theirs. It has been a tremendous asset to our services. Thank you for praying for us and come by and visit when you can.

Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Our overall attendance for the month was down but the Lord added five new members to his New Testament Church. That’s right! Hopewell MBM became Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church on November 3rd. We had a great time and were very blessed by the message that Bro. Reed brought to us. I am so grateful to all who came to share on that very special day. I am especially grateful for Baker Drive Baptist Church and Bro. Joe Bozarth for sponsoring the Mission for the past four years and to all of those who contributed and prayed for our work. Please continue to do so because we have only just begun and there is so much more to do. For me personally it has truly been a blessing to have been a part of what God has done and is doing through our church and this Association. We are truly blessed to be associated with the MBA fellowship of churches.
I had to work and was unable to attend the State Messenger Meeting.
I really wanted to be there to say thanks for all of the support
and prayers. I hope that this will be the last one that I have
to miss and hope to be in attendance at the National meeting.
We send heartfelt thanks to all who have supported Hopewell. May
God richly bless you is our prayer.

We had a good month in December. The Lord is blessing us with visitors in both services on Sundays. We have some very good prospects. The offerings are increasing and this proves that our people are learning that giving their tithes and offerings is an important part of their worship to our Lord.
The New Year will be a challenge for us to win more people to Christ. We are beginning a new visitation program. Please continue to pray for us.

Greetings from Meadowbrook. December was an exciting month here. Our members came together and we built a float for the annual Christmas parade in Quinlan. Our youth took third place overall.
We were blessed this month when one of our elderly men walked
the aisle and made a public profession of his faith in Jesus and
requested scriptural baptism. This was a reminder to all of us
that the word of God is the power unto salvation to all who believe,
no matter how old you are. Bro. Devers is 79. Please keep Meadowbrook
in your prayers. May God bless you all in this
coming year.

The month of December has been a rewarding month for our growing ministry. God is blessing the efforts to reach the Grapevine community for Christ. In many instances we can see the amazing hand of God at work. We are overwhelmed when we review God’s blessing on this work in 2007. We pray for God’s blessings in 2008. Please pray for us as we seek God’s will for this work.
We experienced many visitors this month. We had a monthly high attendance of 58 in our December 30th service. Many of these visitors have expressed a desire to follow God’s will for their lives. Please pray for our visitors!
We are growing in our children’s ministry. Pam, my wife, is leading this effort at the present time. She is doing a wonderful job with the children. Please pray for her as she leads. We do pray that a youth minister will answer God’s call to lead our children in their walk with Christ.
We are continuing to seek rental or purchase property for our next move. We are out of space for our children. Please lift us up in your prayers. We are in a space that requires a lot of juggling on Sunday mornings. However, we do consider our current location a blessing! We are confident that the Lord will provide space for growth soon. We are patiently waiting for His direction.
We are reviewing and prayerfully planning our calendar for 2008. Please pray for this process. I will be glad to share our experiences and plans with your church. Please contact me at 817-343-5900. May God bless you.

Last year at this time Clement Street Missionary Baptist Church
came before you with a request for funds equal to half salary
for our building project in Gainesville. What a year it has been!
In the past year we have made a lot of progress. There has been
11 professions of faith since last year’s meeting with 8
following the Lord in baptism. This month there were three professions
of faith and all three were baptized. There have been seven join
by letter. We praise God for the 24 who have joined our church
family since last November.
The work on the building is coming along very well. Once in the dry we will begin to finish out the inside. Our brick work has begun. New signs are being constructed on Grand Avenue and in front of the church building. Our goal is to have the building dedication next summer when our homecoming and revival will be scheduled.
Financially we are not doing so well. We have lost several of our older families due to relocating because of health reasons and the Lord has called home some of His saints. Our finances have begun to show the effect of losing these dear people of God. So far we have spent $85,886.65. This month’s building offering totaled $1,968 ($1,820.00 from the MBA and $148.00 from the church).
Since creating the building fund two years ago we have raised $159,507.98 which includes the MBA funds, offerings from other churches, and interest. The city has informed us that because of the upgrades there are some other things that must be done to the sanctuary to bring it up to code. These upgrades and to finish out the building will cost about $30,000.00 more than we have. Because of our financial situation we may not qualify for a loan to finish the project. We continue to request funds from the Texas Mission Development, seek special offerings from other churches as well as take up a special offering here every month for this project. We know the Lord will provide so we just ask that you remember our financial situation in your prayers.
I am proud to announce that effective December 31, 2007 Clement Street Missionary Baptist Church will change her name to Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. The new address will be 622 South Grand Avenue, Gainesville, TX 76240. We are truly excited about what the Lord is doing. We want to express our thanks for your support this past year. Your prayers mean a lot to us here in Gainesville. Even though our time on state funds is ended, we still need your prayers!

The Lord has blessed us this month. There has been a total of five professions of faith. We are sharing the Gospel with the Hispanic people of Center and Tatum each day. The Lord continues to bless both works with more visitors.
Please pray for the Hispanic people of the East Texas area. Pray that the Lord would open their hearts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that they would not only profess Him as Lord and Savior but that they would desire to submit to scriptural baptism and become active members in a local New Testament Church.
Iglesia Bautista Emanual’s building is nearly complete. We are preparing to install restrooms in the building. A special thank you to Cross Roads MBC of Hughes Springs for donating pews to help complete our worship area. Please continue to pray for our work, Hispanic Church Planting Ministries, sponsored by Corinth MBC of Timpson.
