The Texas State Missions Conference will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. The conference will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church in Turner Hall. The church is located at 333 West Centerville Road in Garland. The Conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. This year the speakers are men we are all well acquainted with. They are Bro. David Proctor, Pastor of Hopewell MBC in Carthage and an instructor at TBI, Bro. Mike Rice, Pastor of Arp First Baptist Church and an instructor at TBI, Bro. Brad Rountree, Music Minister at New Liberty Baptist Church in Garland and Bro. Frank Lane, Minister of Education for Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson and an instructor at TBI. Total Church Offering $3,165.50 Gave To Missions $450.00

This month has brought many different guests. John is from Africa and his smile is very contagious. Victor is from Mexico. He has accepted the Lord and waiting for baptism.
Donna has been a positive influence to all of us.

The ladies are excited over the “Captivating” class on Sunday mornings. Looking into a woman’s heart and how God pursues them is the topic for this awesome video series by Stasi Eldridge. Our worship leaders are helping us with a small Easter Cantata, “Love Grew Where The Blood Fell.” Our Monday evening Bible study on Revelation is also growing.

The highlight of the month was the fact that three souls were saved. A teenage boy was saved after church one Sunday morning. A couple was saved during counseling. God is so awesome! Thank you for supporting God’s work in Irving.

The month of February has been a month of many blessings at Vanderbilt. In spite of my illness and being away from the pulpit, God has blessed us with good preaching by Bro. Harold Davis, Bro. Adrian Neal and Bro. Wayne Stringer. Others will be filling in for us for a few weeks.

I had a stroke on January 22nd and have been in the hospital and in rehab. I will be discharged from rehab on February 27th and will begin preaching again in the very near future. I covet your prayers during my illness.

The preacher brethren are doing a marvelous job. We are having visitors and some good prospects. If you are in the Tyler area, you are welcome to visit with us at Vanderbilt.
Please continue to pray for the work in Tyler.

Greetings dear friends from all of us here at Meadowbrook. February has been busy. We are seeing new faces in our services and God is blessing. I have a very special prayer request. Please pray for Jayla Cooper and her family. Jayla is nine years old and has been given 4-6 weeks to live. I know that you all are praying for this work and pastor, but now more than ever your prayers are needed. God is good and I know He will listen to the prayers of His children. Once again, thank you for all of your support.

JOSE ESTRADA

Sunday School 17 Morning Worship 17 Evening Worship 14
Total Church Offering $234.00

Greetings Brethren. This is my last report as a Missionary of our Association. I am very thankful to Alto MBC, the MBA of Texas and all churches that were helping to support our ministry for Hispanic people.

At this time my family and I are working hard to establish a scriptural church. The work is not complete. We have just begun but I am sure that God will continue His purpose. We have a few families and they really want to continue following Jesus. Pray for them.

We have a church interested in continuing this Hispanic Ministry. Pray for them and God will provide what is needed. Also, I am seeking a church interested in supporting a work in Mexico. I had worked there seventeen years and I would like to continue my ministry there, but we need a sponsoring church in order to do that. If anyone is interested please telephone me at 936-238-9757. Please keep us in your prayers that my ministry will continue.

MARIO GAMEZ
CENTER AND TATUM

Souls Saved 1 Baptisms 0 Letter 0 Statement 0
Sunday School 8 Morning Worship 8 Evening Worship 19
Total Church Offering $889.00 Gave To Missions $240.00

February was a quick month. Bro. Pedro and I are working hard in the work that the Lord has given us. We started to fix the floor at the building in Tatum. It is a great work of effort. God has given us the strength to continue. We hope that soon we can begin to worship our Lord Jesus Christ in Tatum. The Lord has supplied the pews and pulpit and the money to fix the floor.

We continue to work at Longview. We have been there four months and our largest attendance has been 19 with two new visitors that are the parents of four young boys who have been coming to the services. If the Lord continues making this number grow, Unity MBC is planning to bring down a wall to expand the building. The building is 14ft. by 30ft. and only about 25 persons can fill the place. In this place I preach on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Sunday afternoon I preach in Center. Bro. Pedro preaches Sunday morning at Center.

In Center the highest attendance has been 18. Finances went down in January and in February they went back up. We have been blessed with 7 new visitors; some from Roman Catholic. One of them was saved. Praise God! The church at Center has had a lot of attacks from false preachers in the past. We had a lot of visitors, so many that we did not have enough space. All of a sudden they stopped visiting. My wife and I visited with them and many of them told us that a Pastor had visited them to tell them to stop visiting us because we didn’t have authority from the Laws and that we didn’t have any authority from any church. After we started visiting these people, seven of them came to church this past Sunday. I ask for your prayers so the Lord would take care of this situation. I have cried over this situation, with a burden in my heart; not of anger or hate, but of sadness for these souls that have not been spiritually fed. Thank you for your support and your prayers. They have been a great blessing.

LELAND ACKER
BROWNWOOD

Souls Saved 0 Baptisms 0 Letter 0 Statement 0
Sunday School/Morning Worship 13
Total Church Offering $415.00

Grace Pointe MBM is seeing some really encouraging things from the membership and regular attenders. We are seeing genuine progress, both spiritual and in the lifestyles of the families we minister to.

We had a high attendance of 15 and a low attendance of 11. Attendance to our Tuesday evening youth Bible Clubs has climbed as high as 15 and as low as 9. Attendance for Wednesday evening services reached a high of 17 and a low of 12.

The free use of the Community Room in which we meet is both a blessing and a challenge to us. It is a blessing in that it gives us a place to hold services without having to pay rent. Furthermore, it places us in close proximity to the families we serve. It’s only drawback is that it is going to be difficult to expand the ministry here. Therefore, our sponsoring church, Rocky Springs MBC, has established a building fund on our behalf. Please pray about this request.

I want to thank the MBA of Texas for their generous support, the churches for their prayers and encouragement, and the churches that support us directly for their continued confidence and support. Without all your help, this would truly be an uphill battle.

Greetings from Mabank. Although we have not had any additions, God blessed us with 15 first time visitors one Sunday. We had a total of 17 first time visitors and 5 repeat visitors this month. Our visitation program is still going strong. Soon we will start two cottage Bible studies in our area.

Bro. Larry Jacobs was with us and presented his Star Fish Ministries to us. As Pastor, I hope to put in place some of these ideas in our ministries. Our ministry at the rest home is going well. We have 13-15 each service. Please continue to pray for us as we labor on this field. God bless you and keep you.

Dear Brethren, Another month has come and gone. It does not seem possible. Time sure flies. This past month we were up for three Sundays and real low one Sunday but we still came out with an up month. I want to personally thank each one who sent offerings. The offerings really help.

I want everyone to know that I am available to present our work at your church any time. If you have a special event, I would be glad to come to that. Just let me know. The day time telephone number is 936-598-3914 and the evening number is 936-598-8098. You may send email to me at marlin.freeman@yahoo.com. I hope to hear from you.

During the month we had five first time visitors and one return visitor. Four of the five first-timers were on February 22nd. We hope for their return. We will contact them this week. Thank you for your prayers and support.

JIM SLOCUMB
TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT

February was an enjoyable month. My travels and appointments included preaching two Sundays at Memorial MBC of Rusk in the absence of Bro. Odis Bryan who had a knee
replacement.

February 1st was the time to ask our TMD supporters to help us choose a project for the Second Quarter 2009. There were five requests made for the funds. I mailed 185 ballots with a copy of each request to our membership. On February 15th I visited and spoke at Bethel MBC of New Waverly. Bethel has been a very good friend and supporter of the Texas Mission Development program. On February 26th I will travel to Odessa where I will help Westwood MBC with their Faith Promise Mission Conference. I will be representing TMD during the Conference and speaking in the Sunday evening service.

Saturday evening, February 7th, TMD Treasurer Nancy Gaston and I, with members of Rocky Springs MBC, presented the Fourth Quarter 2008 funds to the Maple Grove MBC of Minden. Bro. Leroy Smith, Pastor, and several of the members were present for the occasion. The Smith Family presented to us a wonderful uplifting gospel concert. They were very grateful to all our TMD members for the $25,707.00 they received. I was very excited to represent our TMD members this way. Continue to pray for and support TMD.
