TEXAS STATE MISSIONS REPORT FOR JANUARY 2008

Beginning Balance - $228,495.85
Offerings - $19,102.99
Missionary Salaries - $13,832.00
Administrative Salaries and Expense - $2,915.68
WebSite Management and Printing - $535.60
Designated Land and Buildings - $261.46
Ending Balance - $230,054.10

Thank you so much for your continued support of Texas State Missions. Hopefully each church has received a 2008 poster of all the Missionaries. They were mailed in early January. If your church did not receive a poster, or if you want another one, please get in touch with us. We did fold the posters more this year due to the cost of postage. If we mailed them folded in half like we have been doing it would have cost ninety seven (97) cents to mail each one. Folded as we did it only cost forty-one (41) cents each. That is a good savings when you have to mail over 300.

Missionary Kevin Bolding resigned as Missionary/Pastor of Emmanuel MBM in Sugar Land. He has accepted the pastorate of a church in Oklahoma. Twinland MBC of Houston, sponsoring church for the Mission, decided to close it at this time. Pray for each of these.

“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.”
Let each one of us pray that the Lord will call more men, that they will surrender to the call and that churches will also surrender to the call to send out a Missionary.

Hello from Sugar Land. This will be the last report that I will issue as the Missionary/Pastor of Emmanuel MBM. I have resigned from this position to accept the pastorate of First MBC of Haworth, OK. My resignation to the sponsoring church, Twinland MBC of Houston, was issued effective January 31, 2008. On January 23, 2008 in special business conference, Twinland MBC made the decision to accept my resignation effective as of January 20, 2008. This is when I had informed them of my intent to resign. They also made the decision to withdraw sponsorship of Emmanuel MBM.

I ask that you be much in prayer for Twinland MBC. They are currently without a pastor and are beginning the search process. At this time, they are still responsible for the lease on the building that Emmanuel was meeting in.
This is still a much needed work in a highly populated area on the southwest side of the Houston metro area. My prayer is that, in the near future, there will be another work started in this area.

I would like to thank the churches and individuals that have prayed for and/or have financially supported the work in Sugar Land. Please pray for me as I start this new pastorate.

God is still bringing new faces to Northgate. Leslie Hernandez was saved and baptized this month.

It was a privilege to perform the wedding for one of our Romanian couples. The Romanians
have been a blessing to us. Even with the language barrier we enjoy good fellowship.

Bro. Charlie and Linda Ellison presented their work to our church. We were encouraged to hear the exciting ways that God is blessing the Ellison’s and their life groups. Thank you for praying for us in Irving.

January was a wonderful month in the Lord’s service. Those who were added to our membership are proving to be great assets to us. We have more visitors coming who are showing an interest in the church.

We are planning to enlarge our parking lot in the very near future. This addition will give us approximately 21 more parking spaces to accommodate our visitors.

Please continue to pray for us. If you are in the Tyler area, you are welcome to worship with us.

Greetings from all of us here at Meadowbrook. We are still seeing new faces in our services and are confident that our Lord is going to add to the church. We are looking forward to this new year. We want to thank all who support this work. It is good to know that we have others praying for us. Your prayers are still needed and appreciated by Meadowbrook MBC.

The month of January launched an exciting new year. We are so blessed with the many opportunities the Lord has given us to present the gospel. We are encouraged by the many visitors the Lord brings our way. This month alone we had over 20 visitors. In one service this month we had over 64 in attendance. AMEN!

We are finalizing our plans for 2008. It includes a VBS and three mission trips. We are making our plans for leading a VBS with the Navajo Mission with Bro. Jerry Baker.

The children’s ministry continues to grow. We are excited with many children who have never attended church. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Please pray for my wife, Pam, as she leads this ministry. We have about 25 children in attendance.

The theater we rent will be remodeled later this year. The seating capacity will be raised from 90 to 250. This is a blessing. We are praying for a temporary place to meet during the renovation.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please call 817-343-5900 if you have any questions.

We finished this month blessed. We are in wintertime and this is a difficult season for some to attend church. However, we kept the attendance stable.

We were visiting in homes and one woman was saved. Also, other family members are beginning to attend our services in Alto.

We are planning, together with Landmark MBC in Mt Enterprise, to begin English classes next month in Henderson. This project is to meet more people and share the Gospel with them. Please pray for this project and all our mission work.

We continue to preach the gospel and this last Sunday we had a new member join the church in Center. Also, we are planning a dedication of our building in Center on Saturday, February 2nd.

I ask everyone to pray for the lost Hispanic people in Tatum. I went to visit a young man in the Longview County Jail. He was in trouble for a traffic violation. As soon as he was out of jail he started to serve the Lord attending services with our Tatum congregation. Please pray for him that he will continue to grow in the spirit of the Lord. God bless you.
