The primary field of labor for churches of the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas is TEXAS, or it should be. Texas has the second largest population in our 50 United States. Texas comes in second only to California. We have a population of more than 22 million people. Texas has the fourth and fifth largest metro areas in the United States. They are Dallas/Fort Worth, fourth and Houston/Sugarland is fifth largest. Both these areas, together with 23 other metro areas in Texas, are growing very rapidly. Many of those who enter our state are coming from other countries. That means they may not look like us and they certainly will not talk like Texans. However, one thing you can be sure of is that most need to hear of our Lord’s saving grace. The question is, who is going to get the message to them? I plead with each of you who read this report to pray and get your fellow church members praying together in earnest, asking God what you can do to help take care of this NEED and OPPORTUNITY for the people of our state. I believe God will hold us, as churches of the MBA of Texas, responsible for our neglect in not making an effort to reach the lost and unchurched within our state. “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.” (Ezek. 33-6)

PLEASE TAKE THIS REQUEST SERIOUSLY AND BE SUBMISSIVE TO GOD’S WILL!!!

With the heat of summer came much excitement for the Emmanuel MBM. We have been talking about our lighted sign for months now. It has finally been installed. We would like to thank all of those churches and individuals that gave offerings toward this need.

Our attendance has stayed steady with summer. We had one family that has three children visit with us and express some interest in working with us. We are praying for the Lord’s will in this and know that He is in control. We pray that we will continue to see regular visitors in our services and that the Lord will continue to lead us to the lost souls.
On a personal note, my wife, Misty and I had to travel to Henderson the first weekend of the month for her Grandmother’s funeral. Please pray for our family as her loss is felt.

A wedding ceremony uniting a couple in our church is how we began the month of June. It was great to be able to share that special day as they promised their love to each other. What a wonderful picture of Jesus and His Bride.

We were also blessed to have a small group of Romanians come and join us in worship. Their excitement to share the love of the Lord Jesus has blessed our hearts.

We spent every Saturday morning out in the community promoting our Vacation Bible School. As it is written in Isaiah, “My word shall not return to me empty.” We will be holding Vacation Bible School the last week in June and we ask for your prayers as we share the Word of the Lord with these children.

Psalms 23:1 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Greetings! June was as exciting a month as we have had all year. There were eight youth saved through our VBS this year and we baptized five of them on this past Sunday. We had a total of six baptisms for the month and a total of ten additions. God is so faithful!

Our VBS was a big success as we saw nearly 400 participants this year. We decided to only have four nights, Monday thru Thursday, this year because of scheduling conflicts for many of our youth workers. Next year we plan to begin on Sunday night and go thru Thursday. The young, as well as the older participants, had a great time but we really needed five nights to get everything in. We are already looking forward to next year.

My family and I are preparing to leave for Georgia and a two-week vacation. My wife and the boys are really looking forward to the much needed time away. My in-laws arrived last week and will be traveling back with us. We covet your prayers for traveling grace.

Thanks to those who contribute regularly, as well as those who give one-time donations. Please continue to partner with us prayerfully and financially. The Lord provides! I am grateful to our Texas Mission Development, the MBA of Texas, Mission Bend BC of Houston, Calvary MBC of Baytown, Florida Avenue BC of Beaumont, and Baker Drive BC of Dickinson. Without you, and others like you, without the monetary gifts and prayers for our Mission, we could not do what we do for Christ.

The attendance at Vanderbilt has been fair so far this summer. Some of our people are taking vacations, enjoying family reunions, and other activities. It happens every year. We know it is coming so we have to accept it and go on serving the Lord. Our people are gracious supporters of our church and our finances are holding up very well. This proves their love for the Lord and
I appreciate that very much.

Our church will be attending Pine Springs Youth Camp the week of July 9th thru 13th. Everyone is looking forward to camp. We have 35 young people and adults registered. It is our prayer that the lost will come to know the Lord during this time.

My health is doing much better now. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.

Greetings from Meadowbrook! Dear Friends, we are seeing many first time visitors. Our youth are looking forward to going to camp. The Lord added three more to our fellowship this month. Please keep Meadowbrook and her members in your prayers as we continue in this wonderful work. Our goal here at Meadowbrook is to reach a lost and dying world. The prayers of our brothers and sisters in Christ are still much needed and appreciated.

The Lord is continuing to bless the work in Grapevine, TX! We are continually amazed as God opens areas of opportunities for us to share His love. The month of June has been a big month for vacations. Our numbers have been a little lower but we have had several visitors.

We are preparing for multiple mission trips this summer. We have two families going to the Navajo Nation for a mission trip to help with a Vacation Bible School. We have two families going on a Medical Missions trip to Peru. We are excited about missions at Cornerstone.

We will be hosting our second VBS this year. Please pray for us as we reach into the community. We will be hosting our VBS in August. We are having a retreat in June. We will be seeking God’s will for the work in Grapevine. This weekend will be a special time of celebration for what God is doing through us. We are seeking His ways as we move forward.

If you would like to hear more about the work in Grapevine, please call 817-343-5900.

God continues to bless us here in Gainesville. On June 10th we were blessed to have 15 leave for church camp at Pine Springs. During that week there were seven professions of faith from our youth group. Praise God!

The building project continues to progress as well. Demolition began on the old building the week we left for camp. The rainy weather has hampered the clean up of the old building. Finally, let me say thank you for all the calls after the floods here in Gainesville. You cannot imagine in your mind the damage that has occurred without seeing it first hand. The church building did not sustain any damage and there was limited damage to the homes of our church family. God was looking out for us! I also would like to thank all those for your prayers for the flood problem and for the building project here. May God bless you all.
