“When he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

We often hear that we need to pray for more laborers as Jesus commands in this account found in Matthew 9:38. Is it possible that we are not praying, God is not calling, or those He calls are not answering? It just might be that we who pray are not willing to do anything more than just that - PRAY. I believe that we, the people of God’s churches, need to take into consideration that perhaps we need to be moved with compassion for those of our neighbors and acquaintances we COULD reach with the gospel. God can save them from their sins. Then those He saves would be available for Him to call into His service. We need more saved people, saved and baptized to establish more churches, that even more people can be saved thru the planting of more churches to reach the many people around us each day. Isn’t this what God instructed His churches to do? We need to be committed to DOING, as well as praying. Saved people are to reproduce. Churches are to reproduce. Let us be about the Master’s work. The potential for harvest is great!

The month of May was an interesting time for myself and Emmanuel MBM. We started out the month by finally getting our lettering finished on the windows that face the parking lot of our building. (Thank you to Sam the Sign Man, Bubba Moore of Magnolia MBC of Magnolia for all of his hard work.) We are seeing some looking at them during the services and even had two, a lady and a child, stand outside the door listening to part of our evening service on the 27th.

We continue with our outreach efforts although these were hindered by my spending four days in the West Houston Medical Center. It was determined that I have been having seizures related to my head injury four years ago. The medication the doctors have been using all this time was for migraines not seizures. I am now taking very strong anti-seizure medication and am, for the first time in four years, headache free most of the time. God is great!

We are still working on the installation of our large lighted fascia sign that goes over the door of the building. We have made the down payment and are now waiting on the sign maker to schedule us. We are encouraged by things that are happening in the work and ask that you pray for us as we continue to serve the Lord in Sugar Land. Please especially pray for us as we have lost our piano player. Thank you to the churches that are supporting us on a regular basis. They are Magnolia MBC, Magnolia, First MBC, Farmington, NM, Ridgecrest MBC, Levelland, Hopewell MBC, Texas City, Frontier MBC, Angleton, and Twinland MBC, Houston.

The month of May has been another busy one. We had a great Mother’s Day service where several shared testimonies about their Moms. We have many getting involved in the preparation for our VBS next month. We ended this month with a church-wide picnic on Memorial Day.

Again this month we have had first time guests and we are pleased to see the multi-cultural community of Irving being reflected in our services. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2

I send greetings to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ. May was another exciting month for the Mission. There were five additions to our work here in Texas City, with one of those coming by way of baptism. In addition to the three salvations, there were approximately twenty more that responded to the invitation during the funeral held at Hopewell for a twenty-nine year old young man. Praise God!

I am feeling much better now that my body has adjusted to the medication to treat the diabetes and my eye exam turned out just great. The big adjustment for me has been with the diet plan and eliminating all of my favorite junk foods. Please continue to pray for me as I endeavor to do the things necessary to manage this physical challenge.

We had a great service for Memorial Day weekend and on Monday we held our annual family picnic at a local park. For the third year in a row it rained but we had excellent participation with over one hundred of our members and friends attending. The fellowship and food was great.

Interest in our work remains high as we are continuing to have a number of first time guests each Sunday. Each service continues to run at near maximum capacity on parking and seating. We will definitely need to go to two services soon and begin to look at future opportunities to expand our current facility or other alternatives to accommodate our continued growth. Pray with us in this area of need.

Thanks to those who contribute regularly, as well as those who give one-time donations. Please continue to partner with us prayerfully and financially. The Lord provides! I am grateful to our Texas Mission Development, the MBA of Texas, Mission Bend BC of Houston, Calvary MBC of Baytown, Florida Avenue BC of Beaumont, and Baker Drive BC of Dickinson. Without you, and others like you, without the monetary gifts and prayers for our Mission, we could not do what we do for Christ.

Our average attendance was down during the month of May. We had good attendance until the last Sunday. Many of our families are young and they went out of town for the holiday. It does make a difference.

There are those attending our services who need to made decisions for the Lord. Please pray for them, and for the church.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters! May has come and gone and we here at Meadowbrook have been blessed with many first time visitors. We have been blessed with the addition of one by baptism.
Three more of our youth have made professions of faith and are now candidates for baptism. We were blessed by the addition of Bro. Norman Wallace, his wife and two children. God is good!
Our Ladies Auxiliary is studying the Tabernacle and our Men’s Brotherhood is studying the book of Galatians.

The city of Quinlan is growing at an outstanding rate. The city just increased its size by annexing 25,000 acres of land and rezoning it for more new homes. Please continue to pray for us here at Meadowbrook. May God bless all who have taken an active role in helping this church - FOR YOUR REWARD IS GREAT1

In May we received the funds from Texas Mission Development. Thank you so much for your wonderful offerings to this ministry. Bro. Jim Slocumb and Rocky Springs MBC are such a blessings to young mission works.

We have had many families visit Cornerstone this month. We are praying for their return. We continue our outreach into this Community.

We are continuing our vision planning efforts. We have arranged for a short retreat to allow the vision to the shared and discussed - and most importantly, to pray as God directs us. The retreat is the last Friday in June. Please pray for us during this time.

We had four go on a Medical Missions Trip to Paraguay. The trip was a wonderful blessing for our work. We were very excited to learn that 152 accepted Christ as their Savior. AMEN!

We are continuing to focus on a few areas as we grow. Please pray for us in these areas.

l) A new location - we will most likely be renting due to our immediate needs.
2) We are redesigning our web site. Please pray for Ken Gooldy as he leads this effort.
3) Our praise and worship team is amazing. God is truly blessing the efforts of Felicia Easterling
and our worship team.
4) The retreat for our vision planning discussions.
5) Our small groups as they continue to grow.

It appears that I will not be able to attend the ABA meeting in June due to a work commitment.
I will miss seeing each of you this year. May the Lord bless you.

I would like to thank all the MBA churches for their prayers and support. On May 27th some of the apartments across the street from our church burned to the ground and about twenty eight families lost everything they had. All of us at Fellowship got together and helped a few families that we know. One of them is a faithful member and another family are ESL students. We saw a lot of people who recognized us and knew that we were from Fellowship MBC. I just want to praise God that in the middle of all the hurt the people in our community saw God’s people helping them. May God bless our efforts as we try to get out, not only the material help, but also the Bread of Life. May God bless you.

They say that growth, whether spiritual or physical, is usually a slow process. May was a perfect example of that statement. May saw our attendance decline for reasons only the Lord knows. Continue to pray with me that GOD will send more families to help us with the work here.

The Lord continues to bless the building project. We ask you to join us in prayer over the asbestos situation in the old building. The asbestos in the old building is scheduled to be removed on June 6th. We still are not real sure how much the abatement will cost but we are praying it will be less than the $10,000 that was quoted. At the beginning of this project we had no idea that the asbestos situation was going to be a factor. Then on June 11th the old building is scheduled to be demolished. The cost of the demolition is about $3,000. We are on track for construction to begin on July 2nd.

Our needs are simple. Prayer, prayer, a one-time offering to help offset the asbestos removal and removal of the old building and then, more prayer. We thank you for all your prayers thus far and all who have given funds to this project in Gainesville. First and foremost, we thank our Savior, Jesus Christ.
