A VERY SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST – There is a nine acre tract of property in Denton that can be available for a mission or missions if a Missionary can be found.

The property is paid for and plans for the use of it had been made.  For several reasons, those plans were never carried out. I have been talking with the Pastor of the church who has title to the property.  He wants it to be used for a church or churches.  I have talked with three pastors in Texas who are interested in sponsoring a mission at that location.  The pastors are mission-minded, and pastor strong, mission-minded churches.   Please pray with me that if it is God’s will that we have a mission work in Denton that He will send the sponsoring churches and the Missionary intended for that location.

Remember these two dates – Wednesday, September 15th is the last day to receive requests for missionary support in 2010-2011.  Tuesday, October 5th is the date for the pre-associational meeting in McKinney, hosted by Pastor Kevin Clinton and Liberty MBM.

Total Church Offering  $1,222.50   Gave To Missions  $120.00  Paid For Rent   $600.00

July was a great month in Brownwood.  We had a revival the first week with a high attendance of 28 and one who came forward for baptism.  We saw one soul saved during door-to-door canvassing and one who came forward to join by statement.  We wrapped up the month by holding Vacation Bible School.

These outreach efforts have resulted in larger-than-normal expenditures from Grace Pointe’s account.  We would be very thankful for any one-time offerings your church might be interested in donating.

The long-term success of this mission effort remains at the forefront of my mind, and as such, I have been searching for a more permanent facility for this congregation.  One has been located which we could purchase for less than $195,000.00.  It would seat 125 in the sanctuary and comes with five acres of land.  It is also located near the high school football stadium.  Please pray with us that God will provide the funding for this facility.

Dear Sister Churches of the MBA of Texas, First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabank, in the love of Christ, wants to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support for the last two years.  First MBC will not be asking for support this year.  Your support has been greatly appreciated.

My wife, Carol, is recovering from her hip replacement surgery.  Thank you for your prayers.  Carol was able to attend church services on July 25th.  We had four visitors this month.  We are not where we want to be but the Lord is blessing.  Many of our churches are without pastors so please pray that God will bless them with a sound, Bible preaching Pastor.  May God bless you.

We were overwhelmed by the kindness and encouragement given to us by Crossroads MBC from Hughes Springs this month.  They helped us pass out tracts, made repairs in our building, made two beautiful banners, led music, and most of all, created a lot of excitement among our people.

We have seen results from our GROW program.  More contacts are being made each month.  We are happy to welcome Andrea, a young mom, to Life Touch this month.  We are excited about many first time guests this month.  You are always welcome to visit.

July was an exciting month.  Fellowship MBC had a VBS and our Lord blessed with 59 kids and 70% of them were Hispanic.  The VBS gave us new contacts and the result of that is we have two new families visiting this month.  We are now preparing some material for an evangelistic time.  Some of the members from our group are planning to do the Commission work.  Please join us in prayer as we try to reach the Hispanic people in Pasadena.

Fellowship MBC is planning to relocate in the future and they might be selling their building.  We are now working hard to motivate our people and we know that if it is the will of our Lord, He is going to help us buy the property.  For now, we have started a building fund with our sponsoring church, Corinth MBC in Timpson, so we can be prepared when the time comes.  This is a great opportunity for your church to participate if you would like to.

 J.D. GARZA AND VICTOR RICE

SAN ANTONIO

Shiloh MBM had an average attendance of 16 in July and paid $900.00 in rent.  Keep the Lord’s work at Shiloh in your prayers as Satan is busy at work.  We are busy getting ready for a one-day VBS on Saturday, August 7th.  As we continue having Tuesday Bible study about the purpose of a church and who started the church.  Lance Myer opened up his distrust about the church, setting from the Catholic religion of how in no uncertain terms that he will be received into heaven.  We are showing the grace that Christ has prepared for him by accepting Christ.

RICKY O’NEAL

BEREAN PRISON MINISTRIES

July has been another hot month, especially for those in prisons and jails where there is no air conditioning.  I have spent a summer working in prison as a correctional officer during these months of extreme heat and it is about as close to being in hell, and yet still alive in your physical body, as you can come.  As the heat rises so do the fights and the physical attacks on other inmates and staff.  Many are seeking a refuge from the consequences of sin and death by turning to Jesus and crying out to Him for help.

Last month we had twenty-three (23) souls saved and many more received ministering through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the material that we send to each one who asks for it.  We sent 284 packages to many of the 4,994 prisons that we minister to.  So far, we have had 194 saved this year and  2,434 over the short life of this great mission work that God has called me to do.  Thanks to each of you who is a member of the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas, who makes this work possible.  Texas leads the nation in number of prisons and now leads our ABA mission work in this white field ready for harvest.  Please pray for this work.

MISSION, TX – During this month the Lord granted us the opportunity to have a beautiful Campaign of The Tabernacle.  Bro. Bobby Sparks was a great blessing.  One young lady, a friend of my daughter Dina, accepted the Lord as her Savior.  She will soon attend college in San Antonio and we are glad that she is taking Jesus in her heart.  We praise God for a total of 2 professions of faith.

SAN JUAN, MX – During this month it was very difficult for me to travel to Cadereyta for several Thursdays due to hurricane Alex and my daughter’s college orientation, but Bro. Jose Poot, who has been greatly used by the Lord, attended the Mission.  Bro. Poot

will begin discipling the brethren.  He will travel to Cadaereyta every Tuesday and go to their homes to impart this study.  Therefore, he will need more support to travel from Monterry to San Juan.  Please keep us in your prayers.

JIM SLOCUMB

TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT

July was a very busy month, but a little different.  I taught the Wednesday evening Bible class at Rocky Springs MBC during the month, supplied two Sundays for our Pastor, and made the hospital and Nursing Home visits.  I supplied one Sunday and Shared the TMD program with Highway MBC of Huntington.

On July 21st I preached the funeral service for Bro. C. E. Patton, a very special friend for 59 years.  He was a good brother-in-law, prayer partner, and my “42” partner.  Bro. C. E. Patton was a very good Missionary, a very good Pastor and the friend of missionaries.

We had a wonderful time with Bro. Bobby Sparks.  He taught us about the Tabernacle at Iglesia Bautista Macedonia where Bro. Abel Oviedo is the Pastor.  We hosted a special worship service at A New Beginning and invited many area churches and missions to attend.  Bro. Jeremy Valladares shared the Word.  It has been an exciting month to date.  We have not finished yet.  We are going to assist Mt. Calvary MBC in Pharr with their VBS this week, July 28th thru July 30th.  Please pray that many will come to Jesus.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support.

July brought a new set of challenges to Hill Country Mission.  Our numbers were down from last month because of many of our members being out with illnesses or recovering from surgery.  With one more addition to our number, Mr. Scott Neil, we had out-grown our building and our lease was to run out on August 1st.  We spent about a week packing up everything in the mission to get ready to move to a new location, which we were blessed to find before the end of the month.

Some of us from Hill Country  helped Bro. Leland Acker and Grace Pointe MBM in Brownwood with their VBS.  I praise God and thank you for your continued prayers and support.

We rejoice in God’s blessings on Heartland Baptist Church for another month.  Some of our members are sharing the Gospel personally.  One precious soul was saved this month.

Please pray for the sick and shut-ins of our membership.

We continue to make wonderful progress on the building.  We plan to begin meeting at our new location sometime in the month of August.  Thank God for TMB.  Please pray that God will provide the finances to complete the building.  Thank you for your prayers and faithful financial support.
