The annual messenger meeting of the MBA of Texas is now history. I think we basically had a good meeting. Everything did not go exactly as I had hoped, but for the most part,
it was a good meeting. Thank you for allowing us to continue to serve you in the capacity of Secretary/Treasurer. With God’s help, we will do the best we can for you.

We have several new missionaries. Three went off support and six were added. (Two of those work as a team.) We appreciate the dedication and effort of those who no longer receive direct support from the MBA. Due to the fact that we added more missionaries
who need support, we will need more offerings We have sufficient to get thru this year but we don’t want to cut off anyone next year who is doing a good job. I feel sure that
God will make sure the churches step up to this challenge.

We now have a new mission policy which will be used next year. The new policy puts the responsibility for the church planter directly into the hands of the sending church. I very strongly believe this is how it is supposed to be.

With a new mission policy we will be doing things differently next year. This places a lot more importance on planning early if you plan to be a sending church. It will also be very important that we use the Pre-Associational meeting to get some of the plans made. No business will be conducted but we can discuss the support requested, etc. and have our minds clear on what to do at the next session of the messenger meeting. The Pre-Associational meeting will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Liberty MBC in McKinney.

Total Church Offering $3,267.00 Gave To Missions $425.00

We had our very first “trunk Baptist” addition. The church Donna came from had closed and she had been keeping her letter in her purse for over a year. We are thankful that God has led her to come be a part of us.

Our Thanksgiving meal turned out to be a good outreach. Two of the guests are still attending. The highlight of the month was listening to “Jesus Loves Me” in different languages. All over this world people can know that Jesus loves them.

Although November has been a busy month, we are trying to continue our outreach as much as we can. This is a time of the year when people have tender hearts and seem more receptive. Come visit us when you can.

This is my last report as a State Missionary on half salary. I deeply appreciate the help Bro. and Mrs. Reed have been to me. They have advised me and encouraged me in this special work. Tyler is a great place to serve our Lord and God has blessed our church in a marvelous way.

Our attendance has been down the last two months due to illness but we continue to have visitors that are good prospects. We are expecting many good things for our church in the coming year. Please continue to pray for Vanderbilt and for me. Come visit us any time you are in the Tyler area.

MARIO GAMEZ
CENTER, LONGVIEW AND TATUM

Souls Saved 0 Baptisms 2 Letter 0
Offerings $520.00 Gave To Missions $50.00

November was a good month for our ministry. The highest attendance was 24 in
Pasadena. We celebrated with a good fellowship on Thanksgiving Day for the first time in Pasadena. They are learning now about giving offerings to God and the offering this month was $520.00. The money was used to fix the church van and to buy some material for the children. We really appreciate Fellowship MBC for their love and care of the Hispanic people. They really know how to share the love of Christ with others like all churches of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Recently I went to San Juan Mexico and I had the privilege to baptize two young ladies. Unity MBC of Longview paid for all of my expenses on this trip.

Total Church Offering $1,653.80 Gave To Missions $165.38

November has been a great month as the members of the Mission are working together to bring more people into the services. They are sowing seed and watering the fields, waiting for God to bring in the harvest.

I would like to thank the messengers of the MBA of Texas churches for approving our request for full support. That support will allow me to minister full-time and devote more energy to the Mission. It is our prayer to see significant growth this upcoming year.

JIM SLOCUMB
TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT

I continue to enjoy promoting the Texas Mission Development Program. My activities in November included the First Quarter 2010 project ballot mail out to all TMD supporters. My appointments were with Rocky Springs MBC in Dialville, Bethel MBC in New Waverly, MBA messenger meeting in Denison. (I preached and gave the annual TMD report.) I represented TMD at Maple Grove MBC in Minden and Chapelwood MBC in Huntsville. Thank you, State Missions supporters, for your endorsement of half salary for another year.

Dorothy and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving in Fort Worth with our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (30 people including in-laws). Praise the Lord for His bountiful blessings!
