The MBA of Texas is now into fiscal year 2004-05. The Local Association meetings are well in progress. We are attending all of them we possibly can. Requests for support for missionaries have been received from several sponsoring churches. This year each sponsoring church was given a questionaire to fill out for their missionary and mission. When completed these forms will contain the answers to many questions that are asked of the Secretary/Treasurer. They will contain information about the missionary, plans the mission has made to support the missionary, plans for property, etc. There will also be information about plans made by the sponsoring church to support the missionary and the mission. It is important to have this information. We are trying to achieve more accountability on the part of the missionary, the mission and the sponsoring church. When a missionary or a sponsoring church asks for support from other churches, it is important that they are willing to be accountable to those churches as to how they plan to use the requested support. If anyone has a question concerning the missionaries or sponsoring churches, feel free to ask and I will try to answer.

In the next report there will be the names of those who have requested support and a brief history of the mission/church and the missionary . God has blessed our MBA of Texas with continued financial support this year. Let us be good stewards of that which God has blessed us with.

If you would like a visit to your church by the Secretary/Treasurer, just let me know.

Road construction in front of our property if finally finished for now. They are working on the ditch area on the north side of our property where we granted an easement to Centex Homes, the huge housing development underway across the street from us. Centex has entered into negotiations with us on the gas lease which probably will give us more leverage. Please continue to pray with us about the gas project. We’re still working on the lease aspect. Our treasurer, Jeff Brooks, has his own business and has donated the use of his newcomer service to the church. This is a great tool and we’ll begin taking advantage of it next month. We’re making plans for our Friends Day in October and will be doing a lot of door knocking for that. We received a total of $1,370.00 from other churches. Thanks for your continued support, both financially and in prayer. We need a lot of both!

Our gracious Lord continues to bless here at Texas Avenue. We continue to have guests in most all of our services. Please pray for Church and Shirley Sparks, Dylan Cole and Tony and Melissa Hanna as they visit with us and seek God’s guidance in looking for a church home. Thanks for your prayerful and financial support of State Missions in Texas.

The Lord has blessed us this month! We had a tremendous VBS August 1st-3rd. Our sponsoring church, Longview MBC, came out and did a great job on a VBS and the Lord blessed us with 44 professions of faith. I shared this with you last month but it was so good I had to do it again. Thirty-one of these professions were Hispanics which Bro. and Sis. Rodriguez led to the Lord. Praise God for His greatness! There have been eight Hispanics saved and three English speakers while door knocking. We also had one 11 year old girl saved in church this past Sunday.

I told you the Lord has been good to us this month! Thank you very much for the special help you give us each month. I thank the Lord every day for our faithful supporters. I know that God blesses for what you do for us. I also thank the Lord for those special churches that give us those love offerings from time to time. What a tremendous help this is. What would we do without you?

August was a great month for worship of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Instead of crying about how hot it has been or how sickness has been experienced much among the membership, we just want to praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy toward His people. Instead of griping about the low attendance, we thank the Lord for being in our midst. Instead of wondering why things are not better, we thank the Lord for what He has blessed us with. We look forward to Friend Day on September 19th. I’m still trying to find a friend. We will be in revival with Bro. Randy Cloud on October 3rd thru 6th. We hope and pray this will be a great revival and will provide all the churches in our area an opportunity to attend and bring an offering for ABA Missions. Please consider this your invitation to come, whether you bring an offering or not. We know you will enjoy hearing Bro. Cloud speak of our Lord and His work. We now have a new sponsoring pastor. Bro. Les Rhea is the new pastor of Modoc MBC. Once again, we appreciate your support.

Praise God, Discovery Bible Clubs have started again. The kids are excited and ready to get started. Thank God for the bus He has supplied for us and the facility to worship in. May there be many lost souls won to Christ. As we continue to carry out God’s will here in Pilot Point, we ask you to pray with us that God would help us to bring more adults to the mission. For those who faithfully support us, we gratefully thank you. We are in desperate need of help paying off our bus note. The note is a little over $5,000.00. Please consider helping. God bless you all!

Thanks again to all of the churches that offer their prayers as well as resources to support our efforts in LaMarque. It is good to know that there are churches that still believe in supporting missions. We are a young body of believers that is growing rather quickly. Consequently, we have experienced some "growing pains" and I am sure more challenges will come our way. For this cause I solicit your prayers continually. The mission continues to be a beacon in the community and we are still receiving a large number of first time visitors each week. I praise God for what He has done and continues to do through our efforts. I remain deeply humbled by it all because I know that, without a doubt, God did it all. In August, we started our Children’s Church in an effort to free up some sanctuary space during our morning services. We have been truly blessed by this ministry and are averaging between 25-30 youth each Sunday morning. God is Awesome! We will be celebrating our one year anniversary in October. WOW! It seems like yesterday. Again, please keep us in your prayers. We extend our deepest appreciation to Mission Bend BC, Woodville MBC Ladies Auxiliary, Calvary MBC of Baytown, Unity MBC in Richwood, and Baker Drive BC of Dickinson for your continued support. Thank you so much for considering our Mission.
