Missionary Report for February 2006

TEXAS STATE MISSIONS REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2006

Beginning Balance - $250,787.25

Offerings - $19,901.01

Designated/LaMarque - $50.00

Missionaries Salaries - $17,200.00

Adm. Salaries and Expense - $2,899.37

Ending Balance - $250,538.89

I am happy to report that the churches of the MBA of Texas are continuing to support our Missionaries very well. For that support, both prayerfully and financially, I am thankful.

However, if you read the financial report each month you will notice that the offerings are less than the payout. It is not a large amount but please be aware of this and please continue to be generous with your offerings for the MBA of TX.

This year, so far, has been busy and exciting. Nancy and I have visited in 15 churches since January 1, 2006. We have attended 3 Faith Promise Mission Conferences. We have sent the posters of the Missionaries to each church. Currently we are planning the third annual Texas Missions Conference which will be on April 25th. Brochures with all the needed information will be in the mail soon. We are also promoting the Heritage Housing Fund as the project for Resurrection Sunday on April 9th. Please continue to pray for us as we try our best to serve the churches and missions in the great state of Texas.

If you want the Secretary/Treasurer to visit your church, mission rally, youth rally, etc., let me know. "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth laborers into his harvest."

February was a challenging month with much illness, not only in my family but also in ones who said they would be in our services. We have continued to have visitors in our services with some saying that they are interested in working with us on a regular basis. We had scheduled a special soul winning emphasis day on February 25th but were rained out. This has been re-scheduled for March 11th. We are very excited by the wonderful reception that we are receiving in the community and continue to expect great things as God blesses.

Bro. Larry Frye and I have been knocking doors together this month, both in Irving and Denton. One Tuesday we had nine saved. Praise God for these souls.

We are still seeing new faces. Our Faith Promise Missions conference will be April 29th and 30th. We invite everyone to come. This will be our first conference and we are excited. Pray for us as we spread the gospel to Irving.

Matthew 9:37-38 "Then He said to his disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

Brothers and Sisters, We greet you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. February was kind to the LaMarque Mission in many ways. We are excited to share that we had one to accept Christ and he will be baptized on March 5th. This young man is a junior at one of the local high schools and has been attending services for several months. Awesome! Please pray and believe with me that God will allow His church to minister and reach many more like this young man, Bro. Steven King, for Christ.

I am also excited to report that we had the opportunity to be blessed with an awesome message from Bro. David Proctor, pastor of Hopewell MBC of Carthage, TX. He really blessed our Wednesday night crowd with an inspiring message entitled "God’s Design For A Blessed Church." There were 80 of our members in attendance and I only wish that all of them could have been there. A great awakening took place and we are looking forward to having Bro. Proctor come our way again.

It has been really challenging for us as we try to accommodate the growth the Mission has experienced over the last year. One of the plans we are looking at is moving to two services. Please pray with us as we try to make this happen. I also ask that you would again consider the Mission for the second quarter Mission Development Funds. We are in negotiations with Heritage Seminary to purchase the property we are currently using. These funds would go a long way in helping us to secure this property. We would then look at building a larger facility here where we are currently located. I am also working with Bro. Marion Reed to determine just what our building needs are and how to meet them. I thank God for the many good people who are reaching out to us. God is so good!

I am particularly grateful to Mission Bend BC of Houston, Calvary MBC of Baytown, Unity MBC of Richwood, Florida Avenue BC in Beaumont, and Baker Drive BC of Dickinson for your continued support. I want to thank you for making this Mission possible. Without you, and others like you, without the monetary gifts and prayers for this church, we could not do the work that we do for Christ. I say this with much love and hope for an abundance of blessings.

Greetings from North Lake Baptist Mission. We knocked on 150 doors and had 17 professions of faith! Praise the Lord! Nine of these were in Irving where Bro. Larry Chalker is pastoring Northgate MBC. We have started helping each other once a week and it is working out great. We door knock in his area one day a week and in my area one day. These nine people were two different families. There was six in one family and three in another. The family of three was Hispanic. The mom and dad did not know English. The daughter did and she was able to interpret for us and we led the entire family to Christ. Six of the eight that were saved in Denton were Hispanics also but several knew English. Again, I had to use an interpreter for two of them. These folks were sure ready when we got there. One of our church members who is a coach led two of these to the Lord at Geyer High School. He is in charge of the Christian athletes. We donate all their Bibles. I am sure proud of him and what the Lord is doing there. His name is Rick Wesson and he is my son-in-law. How great is our Lord!

While door knocking the other day we met a Hispanic family that were conservative Baptists. They wanted me to come back and visit with them again. I went back on a Saturday and we had a great visit. There are six families. We had a dinner with them and our people. We discussed them joining our Mission and working together. We also went over our doctrinal statement and they line up with us completely. They are sure excited about the possibilities of this and so are we. They are all citizens and have been here for a long time. They have been without a pastor for five years. They believe and practice soul winning. They go door knocking every week. I gave the above Hispanic names to them for follow-ups. Please be in much prayer about this. This could be a great opportunity for us here in Denton.

I have a bid of $66,000.00 to finish the dirt work. I sure do not want to pay that kind of money to move dirt. My dozer is broke. It is the sprocket. I took it off to get it fixed and the shop that I took it to have lost it. This is a 1949 Allis Chalmer. It is going to be hard to find a sprocket for this. If anyone has a dozer that they would let me borrow for a few months that would be great. I will take good care of it. We will fix anything that might break on it while in our care. I could also use an operator. Whatever time you can donate will be great. I have an end loader and a road grader that we can use. We have a lot of loose dirt that can be moved. Pastors, please let me know if you have anybody that would like to help with this. I will feed them good and give them a place to stay.

Thanks once again for all that you do. Words cannot express what you mean to us. May God richly bless you all and your ministry for Him.

We enjoyed good spiritual services during the month of February. The Lord continues to bless us with visitors almost every Sunday morning. Our high attendance for the month was 70 for morning worship. We lost our oldest member on February 23rd. He was 87 years old and faithful to the very end.

We will be observing our 7th anniversary on April 9th with a special service. Please continue to pray for us as we work in the Tyler area. We received $1,606.41 from other churches and individuals in February. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Greetings from Meadowbrook. February has been a busy and exciting month for us. God is still showing us how wonderful He is. We have been blessed by new visitors every Sunday. As we closed out the month we had a young man accept the Lord as his Savior. We will be baptizing him in March. Also, this month we were blessed to have Bro. Cory Williams come and announce that he was answering the call to preach. He and Bro. Derrick Meis will be attending T.B.I. in August. Folks, God is on the throne and Jesus is still calling to all who will hear Him. Thank you to all who have supported this wonderful work.

The Lord continues to bless by bringing visitors and ministry opportunities. We are excited and prepared to be used by God in a powerful way. This month we have had 7 visitors. Each of these visitors have returned and offer a sincere desire to be a part of the Lord’s work with this young Mission. We are truly rejoicing as the Lord blesses.

We are finalizing our plan for the launch of our small group program for the church plant. This is being planned for early summer. We have been asked to participate in a program "Feed The Children" lunch in a local apartment complex. We believe by providing lunch to these families we will be in a position to share the gospel. Please pray as we make our plans and pray for hearts to be prepared. We will be hosting our first VBS this year. Our prayer is for 100 children to be reached in our Community. Please pray for us.

We are reaching our "comfortable" capacity for current facilities. Currently we are renting a small theater. We are asking for your prayers for guidance as we seek a new meeting location. Our current building offers seating for 80 (by code). At our current growth rate we will need to be in a new location by mid summer. We have already filled our small parking lot.

We are continuing our prayer for a leader in the youth program. If you feel called to lead in this area, please contact me. I’m available to share the work in Grapevine at any time.

My telephone number is 817-343-5900.

It seems there are only so many ways to say "Thank You." But there are so many things for which to be thankful in our case. God is sending prospective members our way who are moving into the neighborhood. We have rung about 70 doorbells last month and the Lord impressed some to come. We have a lot more children attending than we have had.

The people we are leasing our building from have different personnel and they are much more accommodating. What that means is that we finally got to baptize the ones we reported coming for baptism the past couple of months because our lessor fixed the baptistry heater and pump.

Our offerings have increased a bit more and they seem to be holding. Many people and churches of the MBA of TX have had a vital part in all that happens here. We cannot overstate our gratitude to you all and to the Lord for you all. In addition to the support for salary, churches and auxiliaries have sent $1,314.00 this month. This included $416.00 from the Central Texas District Ladies Auxiliary. Crossroads was their project last quarter. May God bless each of you.
