TEXAS STATE MISSIONS REPORT FOR JANUARY 2006

Beginning Balance - $253,612.25

Offerings - $17,276.61

Designated/LaMarque - $150.00

Missionaries Salaries - $17,200.00

Administrative Salaries and Expense - $2,751.47

Ending Balance - $250,787.25

Once again I want to say thank you to the churches of Texas who provide funds for the Missionaries who are working towards establishing new churches in our state under the leadership of their sponsoring church.. Remember these are God's men called and sent out by a local New Testament Church for the purpose of doing what God has given churches to do in the Great Commission. You, as a Church supporting these men, are having a great part in what they are doing for God and all will be rewarded accordingly. I know your financial care is much appreciated by each of these churches and men on the field. As much as your financial help is needed, your prayers are also needed. DON'T FORGET TO PRAY DAILY for these Missionaries and their families, as well as their sending churches. They are faced with many decisions each day in battling the secular world that is controlled by the devil. It is getting harder all the time. Also, please continue to pray for Nancy and me as we serve to care for the funds you provide through the office of Secretary-Treasurer. We are happy and thankful to serve our God and His churches in this very vital work.

If you want the Secretary/Treasurer to visit your church, mission or youth rally, etc. please let me know. "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth laborers into his harvest."

The Emmanuel Mission had a great month. We have continued to see interest in the Sugarland area for a Missionary Baptist Church. We have had visitors in many of our services and are praying for one lady in particular that visited in one of our Morning Worship services. The next month will be busy for us as we continue with outreach efforts. We have two days scheduled when different churches are going to come and help us visit in the community. We would like to invite anyone who would like to be involved in this much needed work, trying to reach over 600,000 souls, to contact us at 713-492-4837.

We are excited as we plan for our Faith Promise Missions conference on April 29th and 30th. Bro. David Smith will be our main speaker.

On Saturdays we have been using the two minute survey which seems to be our best tool right now. With the Spanish population so thick around Irving we are praying for a door to reach them. On Tuesdays our ladies are enjoying Beth Moore's, "A Woman's Heart." Guests continue to come on a regular basis. Some are showing interest in membership. Thank you for your prayers. Come and visit when you can.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Thanks to the support and prayers of our sister churches, Hopewell continues to grow, not just in attendance but spiritually, as well. I am so encouraged by the love that is demonstrated by the members of this mission toward the many guests that come to share with us each Sunday. Many people have told me they feel a great sense of love and joy when they come to our services. Jesus is love! But we don't just love them - we get them saved.

In January we welcomed 15 new members with 4 being candidates for baptism. Praise God! We also had an attendance high of 187 on the 5th Sunday of the month. We are excited that the new year is off to a great start and look forward to the great things God has in store for this ministry.

Soon we will go to two morning services to facilitate the ever-increasing attendance and we hope to lay some crushed concrete to add parking around the building. We are in pretty good shape for parking as long as it does not rain. We will soon kick off our 2006 building fund drive. We ended the year surpassing our goal of 50K. However, we need much more to purchase a permanent home for the mission. Please continue to partner with us financially and prayerfully as we endeavor to reach our new goal of 100K. We are so grateful to Heritage Baptist Seminary for allowing us to utilize the LaMarque campus facility. The Lord provides!

I am particularly grateful to Mission Bend BC of Houston, Calvary MBC of Baytown, Unity MBC of Richwood, Florida Avenue BC of Beaumont, and Baker Drive BC of Dickinson for your continued support. I want to thank you for making this mission possible. Without you, and others like you, without the monetary gifts and prayers for this church, we could not do the work that we do for Christ. I say this with much love and an abundance of blessings.

Greetings from North Lake Baptist Mission. We had two saved door knocking. Praise the Lord! This was two young boys. They are ten and eleven. The conversation started by talking about a half pipe. I can hardly wait to get one on our property. I have had 100% success rate so far by leading someone to Christ where I had mentioned a half pipe as our opening conversation. I cannot say that about any other outreach that I have ever done. This is seven out of seven and I don't even have a half pipe yet. This is just talking about one. I would encourage you to build a half pipe if you are ministering in a city. There was one Baptist Church in Plano that baptized 950 kids in one year through this outreach. I saw this on the news. I believe if one man can do it, another man can do it. If you are against this sort of an outreach please don't waste your time writing to me about it. This is just for those who want to use it. I have plans available.

We knocked on 110 doors and did 8 follow-ups. We had some good response. We have no shortage of people here. We always have some saved people tell us that when we get our building up they will come and visit. In many cases I believe they will.

Hard times require much prayer. I believe that I have had more problems in this mission work than I had in all my other ministries combined. If this had been my first ministry I would have probably given up long ago. The Lord knows best, doesn't He? I have seen three different congregations here. I am now left with four families but these four families will charge hell with a bucket of water. They all tithe. They are soul winners. They have great faith. They are great prayer warriors. They all have good jobs. They all own their homes. They plan to be here. They want to see a Church built in Denton as bad as I do. We all agree that we need to step out on faith and build a building here in Denton. We are all willing to do that. Please pray for us as we try to accomplish this. I believe very strongly that we can organize a church in one year after we are in a building. This has proven to work time and time again in various mission points. It does make a difference whether you have your own building or not. We have a fifty-house tract starting to build one-half mile from us. We have a ninety-house tract starting to build three miles from us. We have 140 apartments starting to build in the spring just two miles from us. A store front is not much to offer people in these times. We don't have time to waste. We need our building bad. Please be in much prayer about this! Thank you very much for your love and support. We love and appreciate you very much.

January was an eventful month for Vanderbilt. Bro. and Mrs. Wyre Mitchell observed their 60th wedding anniversary on January 8th. The church had a special service for them and their friends and we had lunch following the morning service. Bro. and Mrs. Marion Reed visited with us that day. Everyone enjoyed the record-breaking service.

We lost our Youth Director and his family in January. Bro. Leland Acker was called to pastor Denson Springs MBC near Grapeland. We pray that they will have a great ministry together.

We had people drive away from the church on our record- breaking Sunday because of no parking places. Timpson MBC and Pastor Sammy Eldredge sent a special offering of $2,516.25 for our parking lot. If any church or individual has extra money to give, this would be a good project.

The Lord is continuing to bless us with visitors. If any of you are in the Tyler area you are invited to visit with us. Bro. Phil Patterson, our Music Director, has created a web page for our church. It is www.vbctyler.com. Look for us on the internet.

Greetings, Brothers and Sisters. What a great month January was. We were blessed to have Bro. Marion Reed come and share the Word with us on the 22nd and Bro. Danny Chappell came and preached a wonderful message on the 29th. God blessed us with two additions this month.

We have set aside Bro. Cory Williams for the office of Deacon. We are preparing to have the ordination service in March. We will be sending out invitations for this special service.

We continue to say thank you for all you have done. We are SO CLOSE and your support is not only needed, it is greatly appreciated. Please remember us in your prayers and if our Lord leads your church to help us with any financial support, please be assured it will only be used to further the Gospel. Again, I say, God bless you everyone.

The Lord continues to bless in a powerful way. We are excited about what the Lord has planned for the MBA work in Grapevine, Texas. This month we had a wonderful blessing when two young adults accepted Christ. This was through the ministry of Gospel Illusionists Ken and Barbara Sibley. Thank you Lord for this ministry!

We are continuing our study in preparation to launch small groups. We are prepared to support any church that would like an overview of what is "small groups." Please contact me at 817-343-5900. The seminar is very interactive and educational.

We have had three visiting families over the past month and are excited about the prospects. Please continue to pray for the church plant and all that the Lord has in store. We are continuing our search for a location with greater access. We are now meeting in a theater on Sundays. I am available to share the Grapevine work with your church. Please contact me. Our email address is www.cornerstoneofgrapevine.org. May the Lord Bless!

It is a joy to be serving the Lord here in Fort Worth. Attendance really fared well in spite of what the figures here seem to say. That's because we had some visit their folks from other places and come to church to replace those who were out of town. Our average attendance was brought down at the last of the month by a rash of sickness and some job dislocation. What is also promising is that there are about 20 attending on Wednesday evening. It includes several children. In fact, more children are attending all our services, thus presenting some welcome problems.

We have added pictures and other items to our website that will reveal some of what is going on in the neighborhood right up to our door. Our website is www.crossroadsbaptistfortworth.com. It is a really neat website. Please check it out. Relating to a new building, please pray specifically with us and for us about this.

We enjoyed a fun night of fellowship on January 28th which included worship and teaching in a unique way.

Beyond the salary help from the MBA, we received $924.00 from churches and other friends. Thank you from the depths of our being for your support and prayers. Please keep us in your prayers. God bless you!
