STATE MISSIONS REPORT FOR MARCH 2003
General Fund Beginning Balance $13,727
General Fund Offerings $27,282
Salaries/Expenses $22,837
General Fund Closing Balance $18,173
I am very thankful to our churches in the MBA of Texas who have responded so graciously with special offerings to get our general fund balance to where it is now. I know God will, as He promised, provide all our needs and He has used many of you in doing just that. We also know that as we do for Him, He will bless that we may do more. Isn’t God good!
I would like to thank the churches who have given Nancy and me the opportunity to visit and report on State Missions. We have been in 21 different churches since the first of the year. It is a great joy for both of us to see and visit with friends of long standing and to make new friends as we travel around. If any church would like a visit from us, please let us know.
I am also thankful for our missionaries and the progress they are making on their respective fields of labor. Please keep them and their families in your prayers. Also, pray that God will call more men to the gospel ministry and that they will answer the call. There are churches needing pastors and mission fields wanting someone.

The Lord added one man to our church on the promise of a letter. This completes another family in our membership. One teenager made a profession of faith and will be baptized soon.
Now that spring is here we are seeing our attendance grow. We went through much illness and losses in families. Some have had to travel out of state to funerals.
Our teenage services are now averaging 26. This also affects our Sunday School in a positive way.
Robert Pettigrew and Amy Tucker are getting married on April 22nd. This is a young couple who grew to adulthood at Meadowbrook.
On April 27th, we will be having dedication of phase II of our building. On that same day, at 3:00 p.m., my wife and I will repeat our vows of marriage for our 50th wedding anniversary.
Averages for March are Sunday School 26, Morning Worship 38, Evening Worship 30, BTC 26, Midweek 36. Souls won - 1 Received by letter 1

On two Sundays this month we had a high attendance of 28 in Sunday School and three of five Sundays we had 31 or more in Morning Worship, with a high of 36 on the 5th Sunday which was Mission Emphasis Sunday. Bro. and Sis. Bill Myrick were in our services that day and he brought the a.m. message.
This missionary was especially blessed this month. Besides the regular offering from Zion Hill MBC, the Panola County Youth Fellowship sent a special love offering of $68.67. Bree Kocurek is the treasurer of this group. Praise the Lord! Also, the mission received a special offering of $293.50 from the Golden-Agers of the Houston area for our general fund. God is Good and God is Great! Come and see what He is doing here.
Averages for March are Sunday School 23, Morning Worship 31, Evening Worship 16, and the Midweek service 13.

To all our sister churches, we at New Life MBC send a warm and loving greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior. We at New Life send our most sincere prayer to our Lord on your behalf and we pray that each and every one do the same for us. The month of March had some great days and some down days but we have learned, as Paul said, to be content with them all. The past two Sundays there has been a new joy at New Life. At least, it felt that way to me. When I preach there is a new look on the faces of God’s people here at New Life.
Last month we had a contest between the children and the adults to see who could bring the most first time visitors. It came out a tie. There have been some changes made at New Life and everyone seems to be happy with them.
I am not begging, but I am pleading that each of you who is able, will help our sponsoring church in supporting our building payment. I truly thank God for them and they have gone over and above our agreement. I also ask your prayers for our Pastor and all of his sheep. Again, I cannot express how much we are thanking God for, but now we are thanking God for all the churches that can send either a one-time offering or on a monthly basis.
We at New Life are really learning some new things on how to pray. We have been having classes on Saturday mornings starting at 10:00 a.m. so wherever you may be, if possible, will you join us in prayer. We are praying asking God for two things; to make us better fisherman and for financial blessings. You can add this also for a people that love Him and the truth. I know that when you pray for the right things and in His will all things are possible. Please pray and mention Willie, my wife’s name. With Great Love - Bro. Williams and New Life
Averages for March are Sunday School 18, Morning Worship 20, Evening Worship 6, Midweek 6

Abilene
We enjoyed a good month in March. Our attendance averages were somewhat lower due to illness and folks being out of town for Spring break. We thank the Lord for the guests we continue to have in most of our services.
On the Sunday, the 16th we enjoyed having Russell Knight with us. Russell was with us to tell us more about "The Morgantown Project." Russell and Jason Sheffstall along with their families will do a good work in Morgantown West Virginia. We look forward to hearing great things from this missionary team.
We offer our humble appreciation to the folks who so faithfully help support the work here in Abilene. The following sent offerings to help with salary/housing: George & Liz Clinton of Greenville, TX; Stephen & Charlotte Pace of Magnolia, TX; Westwood Baptist of Odessa, TX; and Paul & Bonnie Hull of Amarillo, TX. We appreciate you so much!

We continue to try to increase our building fund so we can obtain financing for our new building. The youth drama team presented a country-western dinner theatre for us. It was great and they raised $350 to contribute to the building fund. The next Sunday, one of our familes put another $500 in. So, that increased us almost $1,000 in one week. Thank the Lord for the faithfulness of some.
Bro. Larry Huffman and his wife, Becky, joined our fellowship. He and I are working on ideas and plans for the possibility of a shared ministry. The Lord has blessed him with an opportunity of secular employment that looks like it will bode well for him now and in the future. Pray that the Lord will bless in our efforts to work together to build up the work. We’re considering the possibility of him visiting other churches to present our mission work. If you would be interested in having him in your services, please contact us. He’s a good preacher as well as a good ambassador for Crossroads. Also, he will be available to fill in for me if you want me to present our work to your church.
We hosted the local pastors’ fellowship which was very encouraging for all who attended. It gave area pastors an opportunity to see the housing growth around us.
We are very thankful for those of you who faithfully support us in prayer and financially.

Souls Saved! We had five accept Christ as Savior this month! There were three young people in the Church and two adults while out on visitation. One of these adults was a father to one of our youth who was saved several months ago. His goal was to get his parents saved! This brings our total professions of faith to 147 since we started in January 2000. Praise The Lord!
New Work To Start In Denton! The Lord has opened the door for us here among the Hispanic people. Our sponsoring Church has voted to call Brother Jesus Rodriguez to be a missionary for the Hispanic people here in Denton, TX. Him and I will be working hand in hand to establish two churches here in Denton. There are many Hispanic people here and I believe God wants us to reach them. Time is short my friend. Please pray for this.
Need Help On Water Line! We have about 6,500 ft of twelve inch water line to put in. The cost is about $180,000.00 There are three other land owners that are putting up $140,000.00 total and that leaves us needing to pay the remaining cost of $40,000.00. We sure need your help on this!
Door Knocking! We knocked 98 doors this month. There was two professions of faith. Praise The Lord for saving these precious souls.
Our Building Date! We will start our grading as soon as we get our permits. I figure it will be in about two months. We are putting up a metal building. We will be putting up the steel frame the first part of April 2004 and starting the inside the last half of April. Please make plans to help us on the inside. We will sure need your help. I will keep you informed of this.
Average Attendance We averaged 36 for S.S. and 39 for Worship. We had a high of 53 one Sunday.
Special Thanks! It is always great for me to remember those special people that have joined with us to get a Church built here in Denton, TX. I sure appreciate you more than you will ever know in this life. Thanks again! So until I can communicate to you again may Our Lord bless you!

Pilot Point
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We've again had an average month in March at First Baptist Church. After
careful and prayerful consideration we've decided that the best move for us
to make was to move away from the little old church around the corner and
start new. We have come to the realization that most people would much
rather come to a church that they feel comfortable. First Baptist Church
has been around for many years and there have been many lost souls saved but
its time for us to step out in faith and find a new location where the
people are at and our church will be visible. We believe that if we can
provide a comfortable and nice facility more people will want to come and
hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. We haven't forgotten our purpose here in
Pilot Point which is to reach those lost souls for Christ but we believe we
can do it with better facilities. Therefore, First Baptist Church has
closed it's doors and Pilot Point Missionary Baptist Church has begun it's
work for Christ. We will temporarily be meeting in the Community Center
until we can purchase land and build a church. Yes, we've stepped out in
faith and we are moving forward to carry the banner of Christ in Pilot Point
Missionary Baptist style. We need your prayers and support. I am currently
asking our sister churches to let me come on deputation to share with you in
person our goals. May God bless you all and the American Baptist Association
