Total Church Offering $3,765.00 Gave To Missions $450.00

Bro. Larry and Jen Jacobs with Starfish Ministries were our guests this month. We enjoyed hearing the excitement about their ministry. We have begun studying the four personality groups. By using the book, “Why You Act The Way You Do” we understand each other and are able to work together more easily as a church family. Our Sunday School and Wednesday evening attendance have grown. People are participating in the Bible studies more.

Our ladies will begin another Beth Moore study called “Stepping Up.” We are proud of our ladies and their faithfulness to this class. Our music people left and this leaves a big hole. Please pray for us as we seek another music director and pianist.

We are faithfully getting around and meeting people with our tracts and door hangers. Eight went out last Saturday and found several good prospects. Thank you for your prayers and support.

September was a good month for Vanderbilt. The Lord is blessing us with good spiritual services. It is exciting seeing people let God use them in His service. We are having more visitors and they are expressing an interest in our church.

I am not coming recommended as a State Missionary on half salary in November. I deeply appreciate your support and prayers for the past four years. God has blessed us with a beautiful building and a great group of people to continue building a great church for the honor and glory of our Almighty God. Please continue to pray for us.

CENTER, LONGVIEW AND TATUM

Souls Saved 4 Baptisms 1 Letter 0 Statement 0
Sunday School 9 Morning Worship 21 Evening Worship 15
Total Church Offering $425.00 Gave To Missions $50.00

The Lord blessed us with four professions of faith and one baptism in September. We continue to focus on the Longview area. This is my main mission work. I work full time in Longview and we travel from Henderson to Longview at least five (5) times each week. In Pasadena, we go only on Sunday night to preach to the new believers. We are going to continue for no more than ten (10) months. I must wait for the Lord to send a missionary to work full time in Pasadena. The church there pays for the gasoline expenses.

The highest attendance in Longview was 21. I want to say a very special thanks to all the churches, pastors and individuals who support us in the Lord’s work. I pray the Lord will reward all of you.

Total Church Offering - $998.00 Gave To Missions $99.80 Paid For Rent - $600.00

The highlight of the month of September was our outreach efforts at the annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration. The Brownwood Reunion is a three day festival where Brownwood locals, former Brownwood residents, and curious onlookers converge on the city of Brownwood for three days of carnival rides, shopping and live music featuring a major country music star. (Tracy Lawrence headlined this year’s celebration.)

The Abilene Reporter News estimated that 15,000 people attended the Brownwood Reunion. Of that number, we were able to make 3,000 contacts and have several very solid conversations about salvation. Only time will tell if any fruit grows from this effort.

In September, we had two first time visitors who have been very faithful in attendance since their first visit. Currently, we are studying the book of Colossians on Sunday mornings and are doing evangelism training on Wednesday evenings. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

We had another good month. We have had a lot of much needed rain. Praise the Lord! We are hosting the Central Texas District Ladies’ Auxiliary meeting on October 17th. The ladies are busy getting ready for this. The next Saturday, October 24th, we are hosting the Central Texas Local Association and Mission Council Meetings.

We have had nine (9) visitors in September. The flu is certainly going around and many of us have had it. Get some hand sanitizer and keep it handy. May God bless you and keep you well. Please pray for us as we continue in God’s work.

September has been a so-so month for us at Heritage. Our attendance continues to go up a little each month. We are continually making new contacts that are prospects. We are majoring on reaching the unsaved. We are finding that there are many, even here in the Piney woods of East Texas. We are making progress but still need your prayers and support

JIM SLOCUMB
TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT

I enjoyed another month of reporting and promoting Texas Mission Development. My activities this month included four services at Rocky Springs MBC for Pastor Charles Swilling. I preached and introduced TMD to the Payne Springs Baptist Church in Payne Springs. Dorothy and I mailed out the fourth quarter ballot result letters to all TMD supporters.

My travels included attending a Smith Family Concert at Eastside MBC where Bro. Leroy Smith promoted the TMB and TMD programs. I also received blessings by attending and reporting on TMD at three Local Association Meetings in the East
Texas area. I am looking forward to attending other Association meetings in October.
